The Bang Sue Environmental Education and Conservation Center, Bangkok Project  (Bang Sue EECC) was taken by BMA so as to solve problems arising from discharging substandard effluent into water bodies in Bang Sue District and its vicinity. The effluent will be collected and conveyed to the treatment plant prior to discharging into receiving water. This will improve the water quality in Khlong Premprachakorn, Khlong Bang Khen and Khlong Bang Sue.

The project area covers the area of Bang Sue District and parts of Chatuchak, Dusit and Phayathai Districts, the total area of approximately 20.7 km.2. The Center will be located in “Wachira Benjatat Park” (Suan Rotfai) in the northwest corner, adjacent to the School of Railway Engineering and Kampaeng Phet Road. The construction area takes up the area of about 12 rais (from the park’s total recreational area of 503 rais). However, after the construction work is completed, the Center will take up an area of only 5 rais aboveground comprising the Center building, a multi-purpose space and a parking lot. The underground area will be used as the wastewater treatment facilities.

Contract No.1 : Construction of Bang Sue EECC and Underground Wastewater Treatment Facilities

The works under this contract comprise the procurement, manufacture, supply, transport to and erection on site, general construction, testing, commissioning and handing over of works of the following components :

• Bang Sue Environmental Education and Conservation Center (Bang Sue EECC)The works include construction of a two storey building, parking lot, and landscape works.
  
  
• One underground wastewater treatment plant or Bang Sue Water Environment Control Plant (Bang Sue WECP) to treat the wastewater generated within the Bang Sue EECP service area. The design average dry weather flow, ADWF, for
  
  the treatment facilities shall be 120,000 m3/d.The services provided include :
  
• Consulting services for Construction Administration and Supervision of The  Bang Sue Environmental Education and Conservation Project, Bangkok,Contract No.1: Construction of Bang Sue Environmental Education and Conservation Center and Wastewater Treatment Facilities. Including inspection and approval of the shop drawings to solve the problem during construction to ensure compliance with the contract and construction standards.
  
  
• Control testing commissioning and Training
  
  
• Inspection and approval reports/ documents of the contractor.
  
  
• Supervision of constructions works to maintain the landscape
