Thammasat University, Rungsit Campus has been established and opened since 1986. Water supply system and water pipe of the project are made by Asbestos Cement (AC). They were damage and leak due to long term of operation. Therefore, they will be effected to lost of water and high cost of maintenance. In 1996, 13th Asian Game Stadium Construction Project has been operated in Thammasat University, Rungsit Campus and has been designed and upgraded the water supply and Main water pipe systems in the stadium and on the roads. It impacts on higher water pressure. Therefore, the existing water pipe made by AC in the buildings will be broken and lost.
Thammasat University, Rungsit Campus has considered to design the water pipe system upgrading in the buildings for connecting to the water pipe constructed in the Asian Game Stadium. Thammasat University has assigned PTC to carry out the survey, detailed design, preparation of tender document of the construction of water pipe in the buildings of Thammasat University at Rungsit Campus.
Water distribution system expansion and upgrading proposed by PTC has been operated in Thammasat University, Rungsit Campus which will be connected between from the water pipe in the Asian Game Stadium and Main water pipe at Chiang Rak of the Provincial Waterworks Authority to the storage station in the buildings. It can be divided into 2 groups as below :
1. Lay the water pipe instead of the existing water pipe for transmitting water to the existing building groups, but canceled the existing water pipe which was damage and low effectiveness of pump pressure.
2. Lay the new water pipe for transmitting to the new buildings in the future.
In case of water supply storage of the Provincial Waterworks Authority at Chieng Rak will be able to cope with the problem of water distribution system in Thammasat University. PTC has designed of the water distribution system for transmitting water directly from the water pipe line of the Provincial Waterworks Authority or transmitting water to the elevated tank in the water distribution system and then pumping again into the water distribution system by control of the water gate. However, the water directly distributed from the Provincial Waterworks Authority to the water supply system may not sufficiently served for the needs of the Thammasat University, Rungsit Campus. Due to water pressure transmitted from the Provincial Waterworks Authority was low which impacts on some of buildings. Therefore, PTC has provided the advice on the water distributed from the Provincial Waterworks Authority to the elevated tank and then pump from the water pump into the water supply system. |
