The Government had realized the importance of flooding problem, thus the Cabinet passed the resolution on June 10, 2008 decreeing DPT to undertake the study and detailed design of community area flood protection project in accordance with the master plan study conclusion. The master plan study recommended the project to be carried out in 19 provinces, a total of 32 municipalities/ communities. The master plan study, feasibility study and detailed design of flood protection systems for communities in Buriram had been planned for 2010-2012 Fiscal Year.
The project objectives are to solve flooding problem in communities within municipal and extended communities in Buriram by conducting master plan study in 16 municipalities, feasibility study in 4 municipalities and detailed design for construction for 4 municipalities.
